Studies on the shelf

The opening rat experiment comes first; the other papers lead toward different questions.

The frontal-cortex starting point

Selank administration and GABA-related gene expression is the starting point for the busy-quiet idea. The hippocampal BDNF study supplies a separate rat experiment, located elsewhere in the brain.

Plasma and patient studies

The human-plasma enzyme paper proposes an anxiety-related mechanism. The generalized-anxiety clinical report concerns effects in patients. The immune study in anxiety-asthenic disorders brings cytokine balance and IL-6 expression into the discussion. I approach this small shelf with a different question for each paper.

  1. Selank Administration Affects the Expression of Some Genes Involved in GABAergic Neurotransmission ↗
  2. Intranasal administration of the peptide Selank regulates BDNF expression in the rat hippocampus in vivo ↗
  3. The inhibitory effect of Selank on enkephalin-degrading enzymes as a possible mechanism of its anxiolytic activity ↗
  4. Efficacy and possible mechanisms of action of a new peptide anxiolytic medication (selank) in the therapy of generalized anxiety disorders and neurasthenia ↗
  5. Immunomodulatory effects of selank in patients with anxiety-asthenic disorders ↗
